It is with much respect that the staff and sponsors of the '54 Kampus dedicate this annual to Mr. C. Duncan, who was stricken with polio in July, 1953.
Mr. Duncan, who was born at Rolston, Manitoba, in a family of seven, lived on a farm. He was educated in Dublin School District and joined the airforce during the war. After the war he attended the University of B.C. where he obtained his B.A. degree. After graduating from the Faculty of Education, he came to Kamloops to teach.
Under the unobtrusive guidance of Mr. Duncan, many students have been taught many subjects, English and Social Studies being outstanding.
It is with unceasing hope that we wish Mr. Duncan will be back again with us soon.
The staff and students felt a deep sorrow when it was heard that Mr. Duncan had contracted polio. It is with great joy that we are able to report he is recovering and is now in a wheelchair.
As a result of his popularity while at K.H.S. the students wanted to do something to show their appreciation for him. A "Duncan Fund" was held and $ 250 was raised by the students just before Christmas.
Because of the great esteem in which he was held by all, we dedicate the '54 Kampus to Mr. C. Duncan.
