The Annual Staff is indeed proud to dedicate the '64-'65 yearbook to Mr. Richards.
Mr. Richards went to normal school in Victoria and obtained his B. A. degree at U. B. C. He has taught in Kamloops since 1946, starting as a member of the staff of Kamloops High School and teaching in that position for six years.
After, he was appointed vice-principal at Nelson and stayed there for one year. He was then asked back to Kamloops, assuming the position of vice-principal under Mr. Gurney and retaining this office for another six years. When Mr. Gurney was made district superintendent, Mr. Richards became our school principal and for six years he has held this position. During this period he has taught Math, Socials, Guidance, and Science.
After his retirement this year, Mr. Richards plans to move to Vancouver and enter the field of business, making sure that he has time to pursue his interest in the outdoors.
Having taught for 38 years, Mr. Richards says that he could write a book on some of the experiences and the characters he has encountered in his school life.
Mr. Richards says he will miss school, and certainly we shall miss him.
