The 1963-'64 annual staff proudly dedicates this year's "Kampus" to Mr. Vernor Jones. Mr. Jones has been teaching commercial subjects at Kamloops Secondary School since 1946. During this time he has sponsored the A.C.C., the Students Council and the Future Teachers club.
Born in Victoria, Mr. Jones, received his elementary education in P.E.I., his high school education at Victoria High and his University education at Victoria College. He taught in elementary schools for six years and then took a commercial course at the Sprott-Shaw School in Victoria. By taking Department of Education summer school courses, Mr. Jones obtained his Commercial Specialists Certificate.
In 1962, Mr. Jones ventured into politics and ran as the New Democratic Party candidate in the Federal Election. He has been active for many years in the B.C. Teachers Federation at the local and the provincial level.
