K Elder

1948 - 1969

Dedication from the 1961 Kampus

We, the members of the Annual staff, proudly dedicate our 1961 yearbook to Mrs. K. Elder.

Mrs. Elder has been teaching at Kamloops High since 1949, during which time she has patiently and wisely guided the Students' Council as its sponsor.

Mrs. Elder was born in Kaslo, B. C. where she received her elementary and secondary education. After attending Victoria Normal School, she taught for two years, then went to University in order to obtain her B. A. After teaching for four more years, she got married and went into temporary retirement. In 1949, Mrs. Elder resumed teaching and became girls' councellor at Kamloops High in the ensuing year.

Mrs. Elder is an active member of the United Church Choir, and is also keenly interested in the Canadian Mental Health Association, of which she is vice-president of the Kamloops Branch.

The Annual staff would sincerely like to thank Mrs. Elder for all of her hard labours in the past, and to wish her every happiness and success in the future.
