Esme Foord

1942 - 1956

  • Esme Foord was a pioneer teacher at Celista on the North Shuswap
  • During the 1940’s she became an elementary teacher at Stuart Wood Elementary School
  • In 1942 to 1953 she taught Math and Social Studies at KHS
  • In 1947 to 1949 she served as the Schools Counsellor for girls. She was a strong advocate for each girl and a solid supporter and sponsor of Kajinkas
  • She then worked as a district counselor and completed her Ph.D. before returning to KHS in 1952 to 1956 as the Girl’s Consellor and Guidance teacher.
