Jo Saunderson

1979 - 1999

  • Taught Equine Studies, Agriculture and general science at KSS
  • Planned, sought Board Approval for, and implemented the popular locally developed course “Equine Studies”.
  • From the inception of KHS and KSS trustees, members of the community and school administrators expressed the desire that KHS/KSS should offer a practical course and program in Agriculture.
  • The course Jo developed with help from Ric Wanless of Norkam became a very popular course and a practical way for students to develop an appreciation of agriculture and with an emphasis on horses.
  • Respected and appreciated by students for her dedication, positive relationships and love of animals.
  • Nominated by the class of 1989-1999 as the teacher of the year.
