LLOYD _ Helen Martha "Marty" (nee Frost), born March 4, 1919, passed away peacefully at her home in Vancouver, February 15, 2005.
Predeceased by husband Norman (1957) and sisters Isobel Midmore (1984), Catherine (1936) and Marion Waters (2002). She will be greatly missed by her loving family: children Linda Whittaker, Deborah and David (Joanne); grandchildren Dionne (Paul) Palanjian, Matthew and Thomas; great-grandchildren Nicolas, Estelle and Declan, as well as numerous other family and friends.
Marty grew up in Kamloops and worked in fashion display at David Spencer's before opening her own ladies clothing store, Marty's, in Vancouver with her husband Norman in 1947. Driven by her eye for fashion, creativity, and talent for customer service, Marty's was one of the leading fashion stores in the city until her retirement in 1992.
She loved her family, her friends, her customers, gardening and puttering at her beach house in Point Roberts. Marty made everyone she met feel very special. We will miss her gift for seeing the funny side of almost everything. A life-long Christian, she drew tremendous strength from her faith and is now with her Lord.
