1965 - 1966 M
Doug MacDonald

December 24, 1949 - December 12, 2023

In loving memory of Douglas Alexander MacDonald, a brilliant mind and an adventurer.

Douglas, fondly known as Doug by some, passed away peacefully at the age of 73 after a battle with cancer.

Doug’s journey through life was nothing short of extraordinary. He embarked on his scholarly pursuits early, leaving his hometown of Kamloops for university at the age of 16. Throughout his life Doug remained a dedicated scholar, consistently engaging in research and writing until his last days.

Following his academic endeavors, Douglas set out on a global odyssey, teaching English in Asia, being a pioneer in the field. His worldly experience shaped him into a man of diverse talents and skills. Upon his arrival in New York Doug left an indelible mark transforming lofts for renowned personalities, a point of pride for him especially in the work he did for the iconic Mick Jagger.

Douglas returned to the west coast, seeking a peaceful place to raise his daughter Sasha, the light of his life. His commitment to family was unwavering and he took immense pride in Sasha’s accomplishments, witnessing her journey earning a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering to achieving a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Thermosciences at Stanford.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Sasha and granddaughter Audrey, his good friend Cindy and his sisters, Linda (Dave) Milligan, Catherine Applegath, Delores MacDonald, and Janice LaPlante, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
