In Loving Memory Chizuko Karen Joy Tasaka October 28, 1951- January 30, 2010
Chizuko passed away peacefully at home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, surrounded by family and friends. Chizuko was a devoted Buddhist practitioner, gifted writer and poet, loving mother, and dear friend, sister, aunt, and daughter. Survived and dearly missed by: son, Orie Tasaka-Jupp, mother Rose Tasaka; sisters: June (Kats) Kitamura, Eileen (Karl) Willms and Elaine Englar; nieces and nephews: Craig (Kelly), Kevin, Kyle (Monica), Kelly (Mike), Laura (Brad), Michelle and Jacquie; grandnephews and grandnieces: Drew, Natai, Tye, Katie, Fumiko, and Yuki.
Chizuko was born in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, and grew up in Loon Lake, Port Edward and Louis Creek, B.C. Chizuko graduated from Kamloops Secondary School in 1966. She attended the University of British Columbia, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Faculty of Education, after which she completed at Master's degree in Sociology at the University of Alberta. After many years of social work in Canada, Chizuko joined a Zen Buddhist monastery at Jemez Bodhi Mandala in Jemez Springs, New Mexico.
Chizuko died, after a long illness, in 2010. She was a poet, a mother, a wife and a loving relative to all of her family members.

Roy Teshima
 
      

Roy Teshima passed away on June 12, 2018 at home in Ashcroft, BC. He was 68 years old. He was born September 9, 1949 and raised in Ashcroft.

Roy is survived by his wife, Sandra Nixon of 28 years, and his two step daughters: Laurie Simpson (Roland) of Cache Creek, Camaro Andersen (Jared) of 16 Mile. His four rays of sunshine (grandchildren): Seth Eaton – 18 Lillian Eaton – 13, Hank Andersen – 6 and Georgia Andersen – 4. Brothers: Mamoru (Robin) Kamloops, Richard (Judy) Kamloops, Mutsuo (Pat) Ashcroft, Ken of Ashcroft. Sisters: Kiyoko of Ashcroft, Merry of Ashcroft. Nieces and Nephews, who were all special to Roy.

Roy was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Roy started working at Bethlehem Copper on May 5, 1969 and when the companies merged went to work for HVC and retired January 5, 2017. He worked for 47.5 years and loved his colleagues like family.

Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, dirt biking, baseball, badminton, hockey and sports in general.

Roy's travels led him to Jamaica, Venezuela, Barbados, and many times to Mexico. He was very fond of all genres of music and went to many concerts, but the highlights of his life were his 4 grandchildren and he couldn’t be prouder of them.
